Best places to see Christmas lights in Boise and the Treasure Valley

Updated: Nov 20, 2023

The holiday season is fast approaching and now is the time to start planning to see the best Christmas lights in Boise and around the Treasure Valley. There are a couple new places this year to see lights, including right in downtown Boise!

Scentsy Commons Christmas Lights

The Scentsy campus in Meridian decorates all of the trees and buildings in over 900,000 lights, including the signature light tunnel and the 75 foot tall Christmas Tree. The lights will be on every night through January 15, 2024 from sunset to sunrise.

Caldwell’s Winter Wonderland

The City of Caldwell lights up Indian Creek in downtown with over a million lights each year. The free to attend wonderland includes visits to Santa, an ice skating rink, holiday treats and lots of shopping from local vendors.

The holiday lights are on starting at dusk and running through January 8, 2024.

Winter Garden aGlow

Winter Garden aGlow at the Idaho Botanical Gardens is a great event to see a bunch of holiday lights. The event runs Wednesdays through Sundays until New Year’s Eve. You’ll be able to wander through a variety of twinkling lights, enchanting displays and snack on cookies and hot chocolate.

Also for the kids is the Santa mailbox, where they can write their letters and wishlists. Families will also enjoy the Kid’s Gingerbread House and the Snow Globe bar, which will serve unique holiday drinks.

Glide on Grove

New this year in downtown Boise is Glide on Grove, an all inclusive and free activity for the community to enjoy. The ice skating rink will surround Boise’s holiday tree until the last Sunday in January, giving everyone plenty of time to check it out.

Boise’s holiday tree is adorned with more than 5,000 lights and a custom made tree topper. The rest of downtown Boise is decorated with lit wreaths, around 350 streetlights wrapped with lights and 12 intersections glowing with snowflakes.

And if you are just wanting to drive around and see the lights in different neighborhoods, there is a map for that! Boise Christmas Lights also has the perfect driving route mapped out for you that shows different displays in order.
