CAN’T-MISS SPOTS IN CHARMING GARDEN CITY

“Nestled by the River,” Garden City is a charming city that is tucked inside of Boise’s borders. The city received its name from the many gardens that were grown by Chinese immigrants who settled in the area. Now, the city is a haven for local artists and visitors can find everything from handcrafted beverages to remarkable artisan creations.

Go Shopping

The place to be in the warmer months is at 34th Street Market, an outdoor market featuring vendors located right along the Boise River. Purchase fresh produce, browse creations by local artists, and savor unique food offerings all while soaking up the sun. Just a few feet away is Whitewater Park where you can glimpse surfers and other extreme sport enthusiasts tackle the waves.

Grab a Drink or Bite to eat

There are numerous wineries, coffee shops, and breweries located in Garden City. Two must-visit spots are Telaya Winery and Western Collective.

Telaya has been a Boise staple since 2008 when the family-owned winery created its first blend. Enjoy the deliciously locally-made wine while taking in the views at Telaya’s tasting room. The winery is located along Boise’s Greenbelt, with a dog-friendly patio and fire pits to make for a cozy visit. Ride your bike, walk, or drive to this gorgeous location!

If you would prefer a brewski or a coffee, then head on over to Western Collective. This unique spot serves up everything from lattes to sangria slushes. The spacious building includes outdoor seating and is open from 7 am so you can tackle some work with a hot drink and then hang out with friends afterward while sipping on a cold beer.

Our favorite Garden City staple is the Stagecoach Inn famous for their delicious steaks, famous prawns and house made desserts. Make sure to try their homemade Italian salad dressing and coconut cream pie dessert. Rumor has it that a lot of big Boise area business deals have happened within these walls.

You are sure to find your new favorite brewery or winery in Garden City!

If you have ever wanted to try your hand at creating with glass, then schedule a glass at Zion Warne Glass blowing studio. Or, skip the classes and purchase a Zion Warne creation for a gift or to highlight in your own home.

Discover all that Garden City has to offer by following the Artisans Pathway. Follow the nine signs that line the Greenbelt or pick up a map to explore the many artists, craft breweries, cideries, and wineries located in the city.
