DAY GUIDE TO EXPERIENCE CALDWELL, IDAHO

New to the Treasure Valley and looking to explore more than just Boise? Luckily for you, there are several different cities nearby that have a variety of things to do and places to eat.

This month we are breaking down the city of Caldwell and giving a day’s worth of ideas of things to do and see!

Starting the day with little shopping is always the best idea. Stores like Idaho Mercantile, Lit&Co. Candles, and Burbank Street Boutique are easy to find and easy to walk out with more than you need. All these stores are within walking distance of Indian Creek Plaza, which offers plenty of parking, a park to eat lunch in, and several restaurants in the area with unique food options (more on that a little later!).

Speaking of Indian Creek Plaza, the space is in the middle of downtown Caldwell and many events are held yearly. The plaza has splash pads in the summer and an outdoor ice ribbon to skate on during the winter. There is always food, music and games in the plaza for you and your family to enjoy. Indian Creek Plaza opened in 2018 and will continue to hold successful events and be a gathering place for many years.

Caldwell is also home to the Sunnyslope Wine Trail, which starts and ends in downtown Caldwell and is a great way to try some fantastic Idaho wines. The wine trail goes through 16 wineries and vineyards, all with award-winning wines and the opportunity for tasting and dining experiences with beautiful views. Sunnyslope is a year-round opportunity and you can take a drive around this time of year to catch the fall harvest. In the winter, the snow-covered vineyards are gorgeous to look at while sipping some wine.

If you’re looking for fine dining in Caldwell, look no further than restaurants like AMANO and Indian Creek Steakhouse. Reservations are recommended for both establishments as they are near the downtown core and extremely popular due to their unique food items and environment. Indian Creek Steakhouse offers a mechanical bull and dancing and at AMANO, you can reserve a private vault for special occasions. The vault seats up to 14 people and you can experience the best of modern Mexican food with a five-course, Prix fix meal with optional wine or agave distillation pairing.
